The Friends of the Library of the Santa Ynez Valley is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening and enriching our local libraries. Through memberships, donations, book sales, and community support, we help fund books, programs, equipment, and special projects that expand opportunities for everyone in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Volunteer
We're thankful that you are interested in volunteering with us! Volunteer opportunities for adults and teens are available year-round at the Santa Ynez Valley Libraries. If you are looking for a way to get involved in your community, the library's Volunteer Program might be the place for you.

Teens ages 14-17 are eligible to volunteer at the library and can earn Community Service Hours. Throughout the year, they can serve as Homework Help volunteers, provide support for children’s craft programs, clean library materials, shelve items, and assist staff with special projects. During the summer, many teens help with the annual Summer Reading Program.

Adults ages 18 and older are eligible to volunteer at the library. Throughout the year, adult volunteers help with pulling holds from the shelves; checking in our delivery of materials from other libraries; shelving, cleaning and mending library materials; and assisting with some programs.
